Christ Presbyterian Church is affiliated with the Presbyterian Church (USA) and is governed by the BOOK OF ORDER in its commitment to God and Jesus Christ and in structure and procedures. The Session provides spiritual leadership and has overall responsibility for operation of the local Church. It makes policy, establishes and approves the budget, and makes other day to day decisions. Fifteen ordained Elders are elected from and by the congregation to serve for three year terms. The Pastor moderates the Session. The Board of Trustees consists of the officers of the corporation and the Session to conduct such legal or other business as necessary. Session Committees are moderated by Session members. You are invited to volunteer your time and talents:
The Board of Deacons ministers to those who are in need, to the sick, to the friendless, and to any who may be in distress. They shall assume other duties as delegated to them from time to time by the Session. Fifteen ordained Deacons are elected from and by the congregation to serve three year terms. An Annual Meeting of the congregation provides for reports from all officers and programs of the Church. Elders, Deacons and a nominating committee are elected. The annual proposed budget is presented and the Pastors' calls are approved by a vote of the congregation. The Hierarchy of the Presbyterian Church USA consists of individual churches organized as Presbyteries, with groups of Presbyteries forming Synods. All of these orders constitute the Presbyterian Church USA. Elected representatives from these levels form the General Assembly of the PCUSA, which meets annually to provide spiritual leadership and to set policy and procedures. Christ Presbyterian Church is a member of the Central Florida Presbytery and the Synod of the South.
